How long after HRT can I expect to stop having erections?

Can you answer Chelly’s question about Menopause?:

Erections are so annoying(and weird) for me and I know after HRT they’ll stop, but how long after?

and can I expect to start getting female like erections in my nipples when I get “aroused”?

Sorry for the weird question but I would appreciate serious answers from Transsexual or Transgendered Women who’ve experienced this.

(To clarify, i’m a Transgendered girl/woman)

Menopause Feedback: More like a SHEMALE.

    About 4 weeks.

Menopause Feedback: I’ve heard around six or seven months they are less likely to occur.

As for erections in the nipples, I’d take the guess they would show up when the other erections go away. Although I was always under the impression male or female nipples could get erect.

Menopause Feedback: I don’t know anything about HRT as I’m not trans, but I thought men’s nipples got erect too… Yours may just not be prominent. I know mine aren’t.

Menopause Feedback: Approx. 1 year maybee longer it all depends on how your body reacts to the estrogen.

Menopause Feedback: YMMV (Your mileage may vary).

    A few variables:

    Your genetics

    Type of HRT

    Dose of HRT

Some people require massive doses of an anti-androgen along with the estrogen, while others like me got instant relief on estrogen alone. When I started HRT 5 years ago I stopped having spontaneous erections IMMEDIATELY. And I went months before I had another. Thereafter I had about one a month until SRS. No problems since SRS :)
I’m a little concerned with your interest in nipple arousal. I hope you realize transition is NOT about sex hon. It’s about affirming your gender identity.

    My advice is simply this:

Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Maybe you should join an online support group where you could ask questions like this to people who know… instead of anonymous people at Yahoo.
For younger transitioners 35 and under.

Menopause Feedback: I have not had a spontaneous erection sense starting HRT. And as Radgal said, we are all different and our bodies all respond differently.

As for nipples they are no more or less sensitive then before.

Menopause Feedback: I was on estrogen for 8 years an still got erections, it was not until then that I started my Aldactone (anti-androgen) I have not had problems since then

Other than that listen to Radgal

Menopause Feedback: It all depends on your body. Typically you will continue to have erections for a long time, but they won’t be as…ridged. Your ability to maintain an erection will probably decrease over a few months. I’m not exactly sure as to how long it will be before erections stop completely.

It also depends on your hormone regimen. All kinds of things factor into it.

Menopause Feedback: Everybody is different after i started anti androgens what I had could not be considered an erection

Menopause Feedback: You can expect random erections to stop somewhere between 4 and 6 months. After that point, you’ll be erect if you play with it, but that’s it.

Menopause Feedback: I always got nipple erections, but they got much firmer within the first three weeks of hormones. I still get random “clitoral” erections at seven months, but they don’t last very long. Perhaps more spironolactone would help but it would aggravate my low blood pressure.

    Your milage may vary…
