Is there a link between HRT and breast cancer?
Answered By Macy Waltersson and Brian Laing, Editors
There has been no established link between
hormone replacement therapy and breast
cancer. As a women age, the risk of getting
breast cancer also increases. There have been
studies which show that women using HRT for
ten to fifteen years may have a slight
increase for developing a breast cancer.
Further studies even show that HRT is
associated with the increase in risk of
having breast cancer for most thin women.
This is a new one, since most people know
that obesity is considered a risk factor for
breast cancer.
