What happens during menopause?
Answered By Macy Waltersson and Brian Laing, Editors
Menopause is also known by most women as a
'change of life.' During menopause, the
ovaries ceases to produce estrogen causing
the woman's reproductive system to shut down.
Menopause is confirmed a year after your last
menstruation period. Menopause is a phase
that women have to undergo. It is known as a
transitional phase before the cessation of
the menstrual period. During menopause, the
woman's ovaries taper-off and ovulating will
stop. Usually this change is gradual but it
some cases, it is an abrupt change.
